Trace Adkins already knows where he'll be on July 4: Riverfront Park in Nashville.

Adkins is set to headline the Music City July 4th: Let Freedom Sing! celebration. The annual event, which features a free concert and fireworks, will also offer appearances by Julianne Hough, Jaci Velasquez, the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and Ayla Brown, who will sing "The Star-Spangled Banner."

"Nashville's July 4th celebration is consistently ranked among the best in the country and this year will be no different," said Mayor Karl Dean in a statement. "We've assembled an all-star line-up and plan to have the city's best fireworks display yet to celebrate our nation's birthday."

The all-day celebration will kick off at noon with the free Family Fun Zone stocked with inflatables and family-friendly activities. The NowPlayingNashville.com stage is open from 1-6 p.m. and features performances by Jordyn Shellhart, Calico Trail, Damien Horne and Jessie James.

The evening's main event--the two-and-a-half hour concert--starts at 7 p.m. The fireworks presentation, which is billed as the South's largest fireworks show, starts at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Country singer Jessie James' upcoming single may be called, "Boys Look Hotter in the Summer," but it doesn't sound like she's singing about Kim Kardashian's ex-boyfriend Reggie Bush.

At least not in the romantical sense...

You may have read recently that Bush, 25, and the 22-year-old music beauty have become more than just friends after hanging out together in Las Vegas. Well, a source insists there's no hanky-panky going on.

The source explains that while Bush may have expressed some interest in Ms. James, she's apparently made it clear she's not going there. "She does not want to be dragged into the tabloids or anything like that," the source says. "She doesn't even like him like that. They've hung out in Vegas and L.A., but it wasn't like they were alone or on a date."

Even if she wanted to, it's not like James has a lot of free time to start dating someone right now. She's currently finishing up her second album in Nashville and L.A. And that "Boys Look Hotter in the Summer" single? It's set for release in June.

The Syracuse Crunch announced today that Mercury recording artist Jessie James will perform the national anthem at the Mirabito Outdoor Classic, the AHL's first-ever outdoor game, featuring the host Crunch against the Binghamton Senators at the New York State Fairgrounds on February 20, 2010.

Jessie James made headlines when she rose to #1 on the Pop iTunes Chart and #1 on Amazon's MP3 chart with her self titled debut album. It was fueled by the Top 20 Pop Song success of its first single, "Wanted," the full-throttle dance-rock scorcher that Jessie co-wrote with American Idol judge and hit songwriter Kara DioGuardi (along with Mitch Allen and David Hodges).

Born on a military base in Italy and raised in Georgia, James' music is described as a mix of pop and country. In addition, she performed as the opening act for Jordin Sparks, The Fray and just recently wrapped up 'Tour for the Troops' with Kid Rock and comedian, Carlos Mencia, this past Christmas.

MERCURY RECORDING ARTIST JESSIE JAMES HELPS HAITIAN ORPHANS
Nashville concert and silent auction raise funds for Dove orphanage in Port-au-Prince

On February 11, 2010, music artists Jessie James and Alyssa Bonagura will perform at The Listening Room in downtown Nashville to benefit Dove Orphanage in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. During the performance, a silent auction with items donated from The Rolling Stones, Danny Gokey, Darryl Worley, Dave Barnes and others will be available.

Following the earthquake, Liz McKie, director of 501(c3) nonprofit, Dove Missions, received a phone call from a friend in Port-au-Prince saying than an orphanage had collapsed and 45 young children needed shelter, food and water immediately. After exhausting other options, Liz and her team took on the incredible responsibility of expanding their mission and offering a home, food, heath services and hope for an education to these children; however, their mission is quickly being drained of its resources and is in immediate need of funding and supplies.

When Belmont University student, Tori Harris, heard of Liz's situation, she encouraged Liz to fly to Nashville, where the student had begun organizing a series of speaking engagements and a benefit concert. After hearing Liz's story, Alyssa Bonangura, who attends church with Harris, called friend, Jessie James, who immediately and enthusiastically agreed to headline the concert.

"Our first goal," say Liz Mckie, "Is to raise enough funding for a home for these children. Though it seems impossible, I know what we're doing is right, and I just have to trust that God is going to provide."

"This is truly a time where each dollar you give makes a real difference," says Harris, "I'm so grateful to Jessie, Alyssa and all the artists who have agreed to help."

The event runs from 8:30-11:30pm and is open to the public. Other artists performing are Chris Cole, Greg Bates, Russell Dickerson and Chase Foster.

Jessie is currently in the studio working on her sophomore album! The follow-up to the #1 Pop iTunes debut album containing the hit singles "Wanted," "I Look So Good (Without You)," and "My Cowboy" is tentatively set to be released this summer.

She will be working with some familiar names, such as Mitch Allan (who produced "Wanted" and has worked with Faith Hill and Daughtry), John Rich (who produced "My Cowboy" and has worked with Jewel and Gretchen Wilson), Ted Bruner (who produced "Bullet" and "Girl Next Door" and has worked with Katy Perry and Hinder) and John Fields (who produced "Inevitable" and has worked with P!nk and Miley Cyrus).

Judging by this list of producers, it looks like Jessie will once again create an eclectic sound fusing many different genres that is uniquely Jessie James!

The very existence of the casually rapping white girl reflects decreasingly stringent ideas about race and gender. This has happened before. In the same way that, at the turn of the last decade, rap-metal provided a space for white men to rap without being explicitly compared to their black peers, club-oriented electro-rap has, in recent years, become a haven for white women. At least for a couple of them.

This has been a banner year for white-girl rap, as these things go. There was the debut album by the Philadelphia rapper Amanda Blank, the relentless and suffocating "I Love You" (Downtown). On "Boom Boom Pow," the pummeling Black Eyed Peas hit, the surprise twist was a rapped interlude by the group's singer, Fergie. Even the country-pop singer Jessie James tried it out on "Blue Jeans," a song that practically owes a publishing check to Dem Franchize Boyz for appropriating the cadence and concept of their 2004 song "White Tee." Several members of the community gathered at Prairie Trails Country Club Friday evening for a night of music, fellowship and helping a good cause. Chase Locke, assistant promotions director with Clear Channel Radio, along with the help of GCI and Channel 96.3, brought Jessie James to town to perform a few songs. James is an up-and-coming pop star who had performed at Hartman Arena the night before. The concert was a benefit for the Children's Miracle Network. In addition, the concert, a silent auction was held for several entertainment packages.

"It went well," Locke said. "It was an opportunity to bring an artist to El Dorado who usually wouldn't play in a community like that. She is someone who plays the East and West Coast a lot and usually plays for bigger crowds." This setting allowed for an acoustic performance, including James and two guitarists. Following the performance she autographed photos for fans and took pictures with anyone who wanted one. "She had a great time," Locke said. "It was really nice of her to do it." SOURCE
